Adventures in Space & Time
Tuesday Dec 19, 2017
Tuesday Dec 19, 2017
Matt & Phil chat on a cross-country check-up this week. Phil opens up about his life as an aspiring PhD, Matt tells us how to travel with a young one, and we debate the merits and demerits of compression socks and tourists. Yup, it got a little silly. Go figure. We do settle down and put on our serious faces to discuss how we, individually and collectively, experience space and time. Seen as social aspects of our world, how we experience space and time is highly dependant on the structures that surround us. However, we also have agency to navigate space and time, allowing for seemingly endless opportunities. With a different view of space and time, is it possible to think about creativity, productivity, technological advancements, and (dis)abilities differently?

I sat down jotting down comments to the effect of... Matt be braggin' about BC winters like... Compression socks = frienemy bc fugly but useful for keeping foot edema down since some blood pressure/heart scares from before I started working out Tourists frienemy for the same reasons as you E-communications still implicate space & to expand on what was said, bring w/them a co-presence (when done right; voice comms more than text). U discussed space lots & I was thinking of the whole place = space personified equation & I cannot recall where I got that idea but y'all blew it out of the water :D Time is water btw; and we canoe through it, connecting past, present, future all at once (J. Stroke. Up-current, y'all) Oh shit forgot: I now feel better abt being 3...sigh; ok 4.5 yrs in and stalled at proposaling. Also the time implicated in making a factory widget = R&D time as u discussed + time to make widget × (process-tweaks) to power of ppl making widget... Also congrats on catching up your phD Phil! Also Matt do u like satsuma oranges? Did you have any at Xmastime cuz omfg BC satsuma shipment = Xmas thing I miss most.
